From failure . . . to purpose

I just wanted to make my customers happy AND I wanted to enjoy my work...
But first, let me tell you a little about myself... 

I’ve been in construction since I was old enough to lift a hammer…so that’s more than 30 years now. 

I watched my father fail as a contractor.  I started a contracting business straight out of high school…had some success but then also failed as a contractor.  In fact, I’ve worked for many failing contractors over the years, even some who claim some very compelling results

Some of these contractors were terrible,

…others were doing okay, but just okay is not okay, right?

Frustrated - by constant customer complaints, I spent years studying the problem areas. 

And in my study, I found some commonality amongst the complaints and began to develop solutions. 

I quickly learned that creating real solutions means discovering and developing real purpose. 

Real purpose – a deeper meaning for being in business as a contractor,

not just making money, but what problem am I solving.

Who am I serving and why?

But it seemed that these concepts were a bit lofty for contractors.  So they carried on . . . Without a purpose . . . With no deeper meaning

 - it’s why my father failed as a contractor, it’s why I failed as a contractor and why so many contractors fail to deliver on their promises. 

As I sought to craft the best solutions, I learned that all these horror stories start with a contractor who makes promises but lacks the qualities that demand delivery of those promises.  These qualities lead a contractor to answer questions like:

“What am I really all about?”

“Why am I in business?"

                            "Who am I helping?”

“What problem does my company solve?”

I discovered that contractors lack qualities like:

  • Integrity,
  • Honesty,
  • Craftsmanship,
  • A deep desire to produce a Top-Quality product.

And they don’t practice things like:

Transparency and open Communication

So when I realized the companies I had worked for couldn't care less about all that, I left and I started BizMick Construction.

I decided that my business would be about more than just some simple promise that I rarely delivered on so I kept working on solutions to the common problems I had discovered over the years.

I made a lot of mistakes at first, but after carefully studying and learning, I created more and more solutions

Solutions turned into resources.  AND over time, resources transformed into a working system. 

An amazing system.  A system that not only guarantees results and satisfaction but actually produces a better experience.
